New B&M Store Creates 80 Jobs for the Local People of Maidstone

The local people of Maidstone, Kent were delighted at 8am on Thursday the 2nd of May with the grand opening of their new B&M store.

After taking possesion of a previous Wilko store, the B&M team completed extensive internal and external refurbishment works to make sure the new store is perfect for the opening day.

The new Maidstone B&M now spans over 26,000sqft and provides premium shopping space filled with big brands at even better prices ready for the people of Maidstone to enjoy!

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Making A Difference Maidstone (MADM) to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

MADM is a charity that supports individuals and families who find themselves in crisis through homelessness, domestic abuse, addiction, financial need, unemployment, relationship breakdown, and more. MADM helps with immediate need but also helps them explore their full potential so that they can reintegrate into society and lead productive and positive lives, and enhance the communities in which they live.

The store manager from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

The store manager also commented: “MADM really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
